The appraisal committee brought together authoritative experts from Rocket Force Engineering University, Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, Ecological Environment Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang Energy Research Institute, Beijing University of Technology, Beijing University of Architecture and Architecture and other universities and scientific research units. Academician Hou Li'an served as the chairman. The meeting was chaired by Assistant Secretary-General Jiang Yanping of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences.

The experts of the appraisal committee listened to the project team's report, reviewed the relevant information, and after questioning and discussion, they spoke highly of this scientific and technological achievement. The appraisal committee believed that the achievement was innovative in aspects such as the atmospheric pressure three-phase contact biological oxidation process and the non-immersed tower structure of the aerobic section, reaching the international advanced level, and unanimously agreed to pass the appraisal.

Compared with existing technologies, the results have significant energy-saving, land-saving, and investment-saving effects; after treatment, wastewater and odorous gases meet the standards at the same time, and are suitable for urban sewage treatment plants and decentralized rural domestic sewage treatment.
